Review billing and usage
Read your organization's plan, usage and invoices, and use the billing actions your access permits.
Select the intended organization, then open Settings → Workspace → Billing
for billing details, usage and history, or Workspace → Plans to compare plans.
Both pages require view billing (billing.view) or manage billing
(billing.manage) access. Reading either page does not authorize checkout,
plan changes, opening the billing portal or buying credits; those actions require
manage-billing access.
For organization selection, see Choose and manage your workspace. For roles, see Access, roles and giving permissions.
Read your plan and usage
Billing summarizes the subscription and Your plan. Select Explore plans to open Plans for the same organization. If an expired trial sends you to Billing, follow Explore plans to the Continue with Parable page on Plans. The available plan cards and checkout show current terms for your account. Use those figures when making a decision; this guide does not fix prices, profile allowances, discounts or trial duration.
On Billing, Profiles shows the active profile count against the organization's allowance, or ∞ for unlimited profiles. Select its Usage button to open Profile usage, which contains Active Profile Usage.
For the monthly Ask Parable budget and detailed spend, open
Workspace → Ask Parable → Usage. The budget is separate from profile usage
and prepaid credits. Budget settings also require assistant-view (ai_chat.view)
access to read; changing them requires update-organization (organization.update)
access.
Credits shows the available prepaid AI credit balance, separately from the monthly Ask Parable budget. The card's Usage link opens workspace usage for the same organization. A failed balance load is not a zero balance. When the subscription is inactive, the card explains that credits are unavailable until the plan is restored.
Legacy AI settings links redirect to workspace Ask Parable → Usage, carrying the organization from the original link when one was supplied.
Read invoices and receipts
On Billing, find History. Subscription invoices appear when the organization has available invoice history. For each available subscription invoice:
- Check its number, date, status and amount.
- Use the invoice download icon, labeled Download PDF for the invoice reference, when a PDF is available.
- Use the receipt download icon, labeled Receipt for the invoice reference, when available. Partial receipt for identifies a payment that did not settle the invoice.
The invoice amount represents the paid amount for a paid invoice and the amount due for other finalized invoice states. If neither download is available but a hosted invoice exists, select View invoice. Unavailable means neither download nor hosted invoice is available. A loading or error message does not establish that no invoices exist.
Credit purchases have their own Purchase history in this section, shown once purchases are recorded. They are separate from the subscription invoices and from the current credit balance.
View all invoices, when offered to a billing manager, opens the billing portal. Reading the invoice and receipt links already shown on this page does not require that portal action.
Manage a subscription
If a banner asks you to review updated terms, select Review Terms and review the terms presented. A billing reader can complete that separate acceptance step; accepting terms does not grant authority to change billing.
Open Workspace → Plans, or select Explore plans on Billing, to compare plans. On Plans, Monthly and Annual change the displayed plan prices and set the checkout interval for Subscribe. With manage-billing access, they also reveal interval-switch buttons on an eligible current plan. For Change plan, Bill annually, Bill monthly or Change to annually, choose and confirm the plan and billing interval inside the portal; the page's toggle does not apply them there. It does not affect payment-method actions.
The following actions require manage-billing access and vary by subscription state:
| Action | What happens next |
|---|---|
| Subscribe | Review the terms presented, then continue to checkout. |
| Change plan | Review the presented terms, then use the subscription-update portal. |
| Bill annually or Bill monthly | On an eligible current plan in Plans, review the presented terms, then choose and confirm the billing interval in the portal. |
| Change to annually | On an eligible monthly subscription in Plans, start the annual plan-change flow. Confirm its details in the portal. |
| Manage plan | From Billing or Plans, open the billing portal. Custom contracts may offer payment-method management instead. |
| Manage payment method or Update Payment under Payment failed | Open the offered payment-method flow. |
| Update billing details in Billing details | On Billing, select the edit icon in Address to open the portal. For a custom contract, it opens an email to Parable. |
| Add payment method in Billing details | On Billing, select the add icon in Payment to open the payment-method flow. |
| Cancel subscription | When offered on Billing, open the cancellation flow and confirm inside the portal. For a custom contract, it opens an email to Parable. Opening either does not establish that cancellation is complete. |
| Contact Us | On a plan card, open an email to Parable about the plan. |
Available controls vary for paid, inactive, complimentary and custom-contract organizations. Follow the controls offered on your page. A read-only billing user should ask an authorized manager to make a change.
Before confirming in checkout or the portal, check the organization, selected plan, billing interval and amounts shown there. Returning from checkout keeps the originating organization in the billing link. Checkout success and some targeted portal flows show a subscription-update confirmation on return. General portal returns may not show that message. Verify the resulting plan and subscription state; opening a checkout or returning without confirming does not establish that a purchase succeeded.
If access is paused because of the subscription state, the page explains the recovery needed. An authorized owner or billing manager must complete that recovery; a read-only visitor cannot restore access by opening the page.
Manage prepaid credits
When available, select Manage credits in Credits. Review the offered packs, then select Purchase for the pack you intend to buy and review the checkout before confirming. This requires manage-billing access.
After returning, verify the organization's credit balance and purchase history. A failed checkout request or an unfinished checkout is not a completed purchase. Ask your billing manager about missing management controls and contact support if a completed payment is not reflected after returning to the same organization.
