Connect your integrations
Connect supported sources in the right organization and manage the connection actions available to you.
Open Apps from the workspace menu, or Settings → Apps, in the organization that should receive the data. Search the catalogue or choose a category to find a source. Selecting an app opens its page. Use View all in the Installed section to review the apps already installed for the workspace.
Viewing connections requires view integrations (integrations.view) or
manage integrations (integrations.manage) access. Installing or uninstalling
an app requires an organization owner or admin. Installation adds the app to the
workspace; it does not connect a provider account. After installation, connecting,
changing or reconnecting an account requires manage integrations. Mailchimp
address health also requires that management access.
See Access, roles, and giving permissions if you need your team manager to review access.
Choose an available app
| App | What the connection provides |
|---|---|
| Planning Center | People and ministry data from the selected Planning Center apps. |
| Church Metrics | Attendance and giving measurements. |
| Mailchimp | Address status and audience health observations. |
| Clearstream, when available | Texting conversations and supported account-to-person links. |
| Pushpay, when available | Giving payments and recurring schedules from the selected Pushpay organization. |
Clearstream and Pushpay appear only when enabled for your workspace. A missing app or disabled action does not mean you should create a connection through another organization.
Connect Planning Center
- Open Planning Center in the catalogue. An owner or admin selects Install if it is not already installed; otherwise, select Open app.
- On Connections, select Connect and complete the Planning Center authorization. The initial authorization uses the default app selection.
- On return to Parable's setup page, set Connection name to a name your team will recognize. Use Choose apps to review which apps to authorize. People is always included; select other apps your account can access.
- Select Finish setup, then review the connection and its import.
Use a Planning Center organization administrator account for authorization. Parable organization roles and Planning Center permissions are separate.
The app selection includes Home, but Home is an organization hub rather than a synced data app. Its selection does not create a separate Home import.
Connect Church Metrics
- Open Church Metrics in the catalogue and have an owner or admin select Install if needed.
- On the installed app's Connections tab, select Connect.
- Enter Nickname, Account email and Personal API key. Use a Church Metrics admin account with Access API permission; the key is on that user's Church Metrics profile.
- Select Connect Church Metrics. Wait for confirmation before checking the connection's import.
Keep the API key private. Do not paste it into a support screenshot or a shared query, and do not substitute a key from another organization.
Connect Mailchimp
Have an owner or admin install Mailchimp if needed. On the installed app's Connections tab, select Connect and authorize the intended Mailchimp account. On return to Parable's setup page, review Connection name, then select Finish setup. Open the connection to review the address health and audience observations available to an integrations manager.
This connection's presence does not establish that email campaign sending is available. Follow the controls and availability shown in your workspace.
Connect Clearstream when it is available
Clearstream is a limited pilot; full incoming-message sync has not yet been verified.
Have an owner or admin install Clearstream if needed. On its Connections tab, select Connect and complete authorization. On return to Parable's setup page, set Connection name and review the account setup before selecting Finish setup. The setup tasks remain available on the installed connection.
The connection page provides two further setup tasks for an integrations manager:
- Under Incoming messages, select Show webhook setup. In each authorized
Clearstream account, open Settings → API & Webhooks and copy its existing
webhook authentication key. Paste that key into the matching account in
Parable and select Save authentication key. In Clearstream, create separate
text.receivedandtext.failedwebhooks using Parable's displayed Webhook URL, with Retry failed webhooks enabled for both. - Under Match accounts to people, select Show accounts, choose the correct Planning Center connection for each account, and select Link account. Connect Planning Center first if no source is available.
The key comes from Clearstream; Parable displays the webhook URL. There is no need to rotate the key to connect Parable. After an intentional rotation in Clearstream, use Replace authentication key in Parable for that account. Keys are shared by connections to the same account in the organization. Keep them out of documentation and screenshots. A saved key does not confirm webhook delivery or historical coverage.
Connect Pushpay when it is available
Pushpay is in controlled validation. Customer-facing connection is not generally available, and imported payments do not yet appear in customer Giving reports, dashboards or SQL. If your workspace is part of that validation, follow the setup instructions provided for it.
Manage an existing connection
Select the installed connection. Use its provider-specific controls:
- Planning Center: the Connections tab's Planning Center apps list shows each app's status and last sync; Activity shows recent runs, Settings holds validation and connection controls, and About describes the integration. Edit apps changes the authorized apps; removing an app stops its future imports while retaining existing synced data. Reconnect addresses credentials needing attention. In Settings → Danger zone, Disable pauses new manual and scheduled syncs while preserving existing data; Enable resumes them. These actions also appear in the Planning Center options menu.
- Church Metrics: Disable Integration pauses new imports while keeping existing data available. Enable Integration resumes the connection; review its sync result before expecting refreshed measurements. The page offers Update credentials under Settings → API credentials. Enter the account email and personal API key for the same Church Metrics organization, then select Save credentials. Its options also offer Resync all data and Disconnect. Keep the key private.
- Mailchimp: Reconnect restores account access when available. Disconnect removes Parable's stored Mailchimp credentials and observed data and stops syncing. Its confirmation requires the connection name; read it before proceeding.
- Clearstream: Reconnect Clearstream returns to authorization. Review webhook setup and account links after reconnecting.
- Pushpay: during controlled validation, review the installed app's Activity tab for sync status. Sync status does not establish that imported payments are available in customer Giving reports, dashboards or SQL.
Some actions are unavailable while a sync or permission check is running. Wait for it to finish and review any failed-action notice before trying again.
Planning Center offers Disconnect in Planning Center options and Settings → Danger zone. Church Metrics also offers Disconnect. These actions irreversibly delete the account connection, its synced data, settings and sync history; the app remains installed. Read the confirmation and type the stored connection name only when you intend to delete that connection. Use Disable or Disable Integration to pause new imports while keeping data.
Uninstall is a separate app-level action for an owner or admin. It removes the app from the workspace. You can complete it only after every account on its Connections tab has been disconnected. Reinstalling the app does not restore data deleted by disconnecting an account.
See Understand sync progress for import states and manual sync actions.
